TapcoSlate Classic Dry Verge Jointing Clips are a dry-fix slate/shake dry verge system roofing accessory, suitable for use with Tapco roof tiles. Manufactured from high durability, extruded UV-inhibited PVC-U, these clips can be used to clip together the joints in the Tapco Dry Verge system. Once fitted, they will help to keep your roof watertight and weatherproof by enabling water to easily run off the drip edge and into the gutter. 

This one-size-fits-all accessory can be scored and then bent accordingly to accommodate the Dry Verge – 6mm thickness tile (TapcoSlate Classic) for all roofs. The dry verge system is installed on gable ends, securing slates and protecting the verge from wind uplift and the elements. This product is available for use with either interlocking tiles or natural and man-made double lap tiles. It helps to provide a neat, weatherproof, continuous, maintenance-free finish to the gable. 

Trim the ends of battens 2mm to 4mm from the edge of the barge board or brickwork and ensure they are securely fixed. Fix the first length of Dry Verge into position using suitable galvanised nails or outdoor screws. Make sure that the end of the gutter will fit in a suitable position for discharge, and if necessary, using a fine-toothed hacksaw, trim this end of the Dry Verge to fit as required.

Once you've trimmed the ends of your battens, fixed the first length of dry verge into position and made sure that the end of the gutter will fit in a suitable position, place the next section of dry verge into position by first sliding a jointing clip into place and then attaching the second piece of dry verge to the jointing clip to form a bridge between the lengths. This jointing clip also continues the flow of water down the dry verge in line with BS5250 stipulations as shown in our Downloads section.

What you need to know

Delivery charges

  • The delivery charge will be shown in the checkout.
  • If the delivery is missed for any reason, you will be billed again for the re-delivery. See below: failed deliveries.

Delivery access

They are offloaded by the driver with a pump truck, so we cannot deliver on gravel or mud. If you have a gravel drive the driver will only be able to leave goods at the closest hard surfaced area. If you have a grass or gravel drive it will not be possible to leave palleted goods without someone being in attendance. Smaller quantities will be boxed and delivered via a courier service.
  • DaVinci Select Shake Starter Tiles/ TapcoSlate Classic roofing tiles/ TapcoSlate Classic Ridge & Hip Caps/DaVinci Select Shake roofing tiles/ DaVinci Select Shake Ridge & Hip Caps/TapcoSlate Dry Verge lengths are usually delivered stacked on a pallet (either with other ordered products or on their own if a large quantity ordered) via an 18-tonne vehicle. They are offloaded by the driver with a pump truck, so we cannot deliver on gravel or mud. If you have a gravel drive the driver will only be able to leave goods at the closest hard surfaced area. If you have a grass or gravel drive it will not be possible to leave palleted goods without someone being in attendance. Smaller quantities may be boxed and delivered via a courier service.
  • Our sales office will need to be made aware of any delivery restrictions, such as narrow lanes, overhanging trees, restricted access, etc., that may cause problems.

Date and time of delivery

  • We will advise a delivery date to you by email and your order will be delivered directly to you from Tapco Roofing Products.
  • Delivery will arrive between 8.30am–8pm if you cannot be there to accept the delivery, it is important to leave a note for the driver with instructions where to leave the pallet or the delivery will fail and be returned to the regional hub. Note that unattended deliveries are at the discretion of the driver and if thought to be unsafe will be allocated for re-delivery.

Failed deliveries are chargeable

  • You must be present to accept the deliver to avoid delivery failure.  
  • Failed pallet deliveries will be chargeable and will usually be re-delivered the next working day (this may be longer and cannot be guaranteed).Please contact Roof Giant for confirmation of additional charges. Failed courier deliveries will be re-delivered free of charge within 2-3 working days.
  • If you cannot be present for the delivery, it is important to leave a note for the driver with instructions on where to leave the pallet or box or the delivery will fail. Note that unattended deliveries are at the discretion of the driver and if thought to be unsafe will be allocated for re-delivery.

Damages & missing items

  • All damaged or missing items should be reported to the driver and signed for as damaged or missing, wherever possible.
  • Contact Roof Giant within 24 hours with all details so we can help you. If you wait too long, we may be unable to help.
  • Any damages must be photographed as delivered and submitted along with your claim by email to sales@roofgiant.com.

Do not install purchased items if you have a query with the product (e.g. if you need to query damage that occurred during transit).

  • If an item is installed it will not be refunded or replaced.

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery charges will vary and will depend on the manufacturer, weight, size and delivery location. The cost is automatically calculated when you add items to the shopping basket.

How long will I wait for my delivery?

The estimated delivery times are shown on each product page, we will email you each step of the way to keep you informed. The majority of products can be delivered within 3-5 working days.We will advise you if the delivery period is different from than stated on our website.

Do you offer next day delivery?

If a product is available with next day delivery, this will be displayed on the product page or in the basket. If you have a particular item that you require quicker than the guide on our website, please contact our sales team on 01858 455055 during office hours, they will be able to confirm whether a quicker delivery is possible.

What if my delivery doesn't turn up on time?

Do you offer free delivery if I spend a substantial amount?

Not as standard, we show the delivery charges separate once you go to the checkout so it is clear what you are paying for the products and delivery costs. If you are ordering larger quantities please contact out sales team who will be able to confirm if this is possible.

Do you deliver on weekends?

Not as standard, our deliveries are made Monday to Friday. If you do need an urgent Saturday delivery please contact out sales team on 01858 455055 during office hours who will be able to confirm. This will incur a premium charge if possible.

Do you deliver to Northern Ireland/Guernsey/The Scottish Highlands/Isle of Wight?

Some suppliers/couriers will deliver to these areas but not all, please contact our sales team on 01858 455055 or email sales@roofgiant.com during office hours for confirmation. If we are able to deliver the product you require, additional transport costs will apply, we will be able to confirm this to you. These additional costs are based on the manufacturer, distributor or courier providing the shipping on our behalf.

Do you deliver to Republic of Ireland, Europe and Rest of World? 

No, unfortunately we nor our suppliers can deliver outside of Great Britain (and Northern Ireland in some instances).

We recommend you take photos of the goods and packaging before returning, as this may be required for courier claims.

Your Right to Cancel

  • Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you can change your mind within 14 days of receiving your order (or the final part of a split delivery).
  • You must notify us by phone or email first.
  • Goods must be unused, in original packaging, and suitable for resale.

Returns After 14 Days

  • Returns may be accepted up to 30 days but may be subject to a restocking fee.

Refunds & Costs

  • We refund the product price plus standard delivery. Premium delivery charges are non-refundable.
  • Refunds are issued within 14 days of returned goods being received (or proof of posting).
  • You are responsible for return shipping unless we arrange collection, in which case the direct cost will be charged.

Exclusions & Brand Policies

  • Some products and brands have specific return rules (e.g. VELUX, Castle Composites, Midland Lead).
  • Made-to-order items, bagged/powder/plaster products, and sale items are non-returnable unless faulty.

Can you paint these tiles?
We would not recommend adorning any paint or substance onto this product.
Hi how do you make sure the end of the abutment ventilator is watertight . Do you supply end caps of some sort ?
The abutment vents are self-sealed units that interlock together. There is no need for an end cap even when cut. Simply over-flash with lead or a tile course.
Can these tiles be used on a vertical surface. i.e vertical dormer sides.
These tiles are classed as a roofing product with regards British and EU fire certification standards and therefore have not been fire tested for vertical cladding applications when applying for local building control certification. The maximum pitch for Test 4 is 70 degrees and under. We cannot, therefore, recommend that our tiles are used as a vertical fixing (Cladding) that requires Test 1 certification. However, we advise your client to speak to their local building control office to ask the question of what they would expect to have fitted to make these compliant, in certain circumstances a simple fire wall under the tiles will suffice. If building control certification is not being requested, and the product is being fixed as a “decorative finish” where fire certification is not required, then these can be used vertically – please note that the product will stand up to wind-driven rain penetration and protect any under surfaces more than adequately. We just have to point out the restrictions on fire testing standards for roofing and cladding are now different in the UK market due to the changes made after the Grenfell tragedy.
