Product info

The Samac 36m Copper Wire Coil is a durable, high-quality 2mm gauge wire designed to meet the demands of professional roofing work. Offering exceptional strength, conductivity and durability, it can be used in roofing applications, mainly for moss prevention or eradication.

How to Install and Use Copper for Moss Prevention
•    Installation Method: Fix copper wire or tape just below the ridge cap (the highest point of the roof).
•    Optimal Placement: Position the copper to ensure it covers the most shaded or damp areas, typically where moss is most prevalent. For larger roofs, additional strips may be needed further down.
•    Mechanism: When it rains, the copper releases ions that wash down, preventing new moss from taking root.
•    Alternatives: Copper flashing or mesh can be used as alternatives to wire for broader coverage.
Key Benefits and Tips
•    Effectiveness: Copper is generally more effective and durable than zinc alternatives for long-term moss prevention.
•    Maintenance: Before installation, clean off existing moss to ensure the copper can directly protect the roof surface.
•    Complementary Actions: Trim overhanging branches to reduce shade and moisture, which helps the copper method work more effectively.
•    Safety: Copper is an eco-friendly option that does not leach harsh chemicals into the surrounding soil or water supply.
Copper wire or tape usually blends in with the roof, becoming less visible over time, while providing continuous protection.

This 2mm x 36m gauge wire provides excellent flexibility, while maintaining structural integrity, ensuring consistent performance on every project.

Can they be used to push under existing tiles to provide a skirt to the gutter as the current tile edge is short of gutter.
Yes the eaves skirt can usually be pushed up under the bottom couple of rows of tiles to allow the skirt to hang into the gutter, there may be necessity to push some of the tiles a little further just to allow a nail or screw fixing through the skirt into the top of the fascia board itself.
