We recently blogged about RoofGiant team member, Paul training for the full moon marathon at The Moonwalk 2019 in London this month. We are pleased to announce and give our congratulations to Paul and Irene for completing The Moonwalk on Saturday 11th May in 9 hours!

The walk challenged over fifteen thousand people to speed walk 26.2 miles across the city at night, wearing the sparkliest, most colourful bras for this year’s theme ‘Disco’. Not only did Paul complete this extraordinary challenge through the night (crossing the line at 7.30am!) he did so sporting a colourful sparkly bra!

The Moonwalk commenced at Clapham Common’s purpose built ‘Huge pink tent’ at 10.30pm and took walkers on a marathon-long route throughout the city. Various London landmarks turned pink to mark the occasion on the night, including the London Eye, Sky Gardens and Battersea Power Station.

Paul trained tirelessly for the challenge and has managed to raise over fifteen hundred pounds for the Walk the Walk cause so far, which goes towards vital breast cancer causes.

Thanks to people like Paul and Irene, The Moonwalk London has managed to raise an impressive £97million over its 22 years of running.
