The Wallbarn Aluminium Ledged Profile Rail is a durable and sturdy part of Wallbarn's suspension system for laying porcelain tiles and timber decking. Made from a strong and lightweight construction, this profile rail is part of Wallbarn's integrated support system that doesn't require mechanical fixings, reducing time-consuming fitting processes and simplifying installation for DIY-ers and professional contractors alike.

Wallbarn's Aluminium Ledged Profile Rail For Paving & Decking comes in a range of sizes to suit your project requirements and is compatible with Mega Balance, Minipad, Megapad and Metalpad pedestals. Constructed from polypropylene, powder coated steel and aluminium materials to prevent rusting or rotting in the long term, these rails will be able to hold up to harsh outdoor conditions, bad weather and fluctuating temperatures.

The rail system not only gives greater stability across the decked or tiled area, it also speeds up installation significantly. Instead of having to measure each pedestal height when attempting to create a flat upper surface, installers can measure the pedestals at each end of the 2 or 2.5 metre long aluminium rail to get the level, then place the intermediate pedestals under the rail and wind them up until they “bite”. To simplify the installation process, you can use the rail as a spirit level to achieve the correct height levels and flattest decking or paving surface possible.

For Decking

  • Gives greater support to decking at lower height thresholds
  • Provides additional lateral strength across the deck
  • Rail helps “tie together” pedestals, giving more stability across the upper surface
  • For decking the rail is installed with the threaded insert section facing upwards
  • The threaded insert is designed to allow a 4mm wide decking screw to be fitted into the ridged walls to hold decking boards installed with the top fixing method.

For Paving

  • Rail clicks securely onto profiled rail – additional top headpiece clicks onto rail
  • Top head can slide along the rail - tiles held securely in correct position
  • Rail helps to “tie together” pedestals giving greater stability across the upper surface
  • Less edges between tiles – less trip hazards
  • Works with our Mega Balance, Megapad, MiniPad and MetalPad ranges
  • The headpiece is available with 2mm or 4mm wide lugs, all lugs are 10mm high
  • This system is ideal for ceramic planks, which are often very thin and can be supplied up to 1 metre in length

Pedestals

What are the advantages of pedestals?

They are quick and easy to install, offer improved drainage, protect the surface underneath and can be lifted at any time for maintenance.

How do I install them?

The pedestals are placed on a flat, hard surface, with no mechanical fixings required. They need to be placed on a structured surface, and shouldn't be placed on non-compacted earth.

Do they need to be fastened?

No, the pedestals are part of a suspended system, with the weight of the slabs/decking holding everything in place.

Green Roof

What is a green roof / modular roof?

Sedum or other succulent plants are grown in low-level substrates. Modular systems are grown in sections and can be lifted into place and joined together.

Do they need maintenance?

The plants are very hardy, but watering in extreme conditions is recommended. Dead leaves and vegetation should be removed at regular intervals, and a slow-release fertiliser can be applied at certain periods throughout the year.

Delivery charges

  • The delivery charge will be shown in the checkout.
  • If the delivery is missed for any reason, you will be billed again for the re-delivery. See below: failed deliveries. 

Delivery access

  • Wallbarn access varies depending on the product type, all deliveries are made by Wallbarn/3rd part large HGV vehicles and couriers:

Wallbarn Parcels including pedestals and drainage outlets are packed into bags or boxes and delivered on a to-door service. 
Wallbarn Pallets are delivered to kerbside only. Wallbarn cannot bring vehicles or pallet trucks onto gravel or earth surfaces, the customer will need to make arrangements to move the materials from the hard surface onto there property.  
Wallbarn Double pallets including aluminium rails and decking materials are delivered on double length pallets and will be delivered to kerbside only. 
Wallbarn Green Roof – M-Tray® and associated green roof products are delivered on pallets to kerbside only. 

  • Wallbarn  cannot bring vehicles or pallet trucks onto gravel or earth surfaces, the customer will need to make arrangements to move the materials from the hard surface onto their property.  
  • You must make our sales office aware of these restrictions or the delivery may fail BEFORE Wallbarn attempt delivery.

Date and time of delivery

  • We will advise a delivery date to you by email, and your order will be delivered directly to you from Wallbarn.
  • Delivery will arrive between 8.30-7.pm. 

Failed deliveries are chargeable

  • You must be present to accept the delivery.
  • All Wallbarn delivery charges are based on the customer being able to accept the goods. If the delivery is refused one additional delivery attempt will be made, then any subsequent attempts will be subject to additional charges. Please contact Roof Giant for more details.
  • Wallbarn cannot bring vehicles or pallet trucks onto gravel or earth surfaces, the customer will need to make arrangements to move the materials from the hard surface onto their property.  

Damages & missing items

  • All damaged or missing items should be reported to the driver and signed for as damaged or missing, wherever possible.
  • Contact Roof Giant within 24-48 hours with full details so we can help you. If you wait too long, we may be unable to help. 
  • Orders signed for “unchecked” will be deemed to have been received in good condition with no guarantee of replacement or refund. As soon as the order has been delivered to your requested delivery address, the risk of any damage or loss passes to you.
  • Any damages must be photographed on the pallet as delivered and submitted along with your claim by email to sales@roofgiant.com.

Do not install purchased items if you have a query with the product (e.g. if you need to query damage that occurred during transit).

If an item is installed it will not be refunded or replaced.

Delivery

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery charges will vary and will depend on the manufacturer, weight, size and delivery location. The cost is automatically calculated when you add items to the shopping basket.

How long will I wait for my delivery?

The estimated delivery times are shown on each product page, we will email you each step of the way to keep you informed. The majority of products can be delivered within 3-5 working days.We will advise you if the delivery period is different from than stated on our website.

Do you offer NEXT DAY delivery?

We currently offer next day delivery on certain brands. If you have a particular item that you require quicker than the guide on our website, please contact our sales team on 01858 455055 during office hours, they will be able to confirm whether a quicker delivery is possible.

What if my delivery doesn't turn up on time?

Do you offer FREE Delivery if I spend a substantial amount?

Not as standard, we show the delivery charges separate once you go to the checkout so it is clear what you are paying for the products and delivery costs. If you are ordering larger quantities please contact out sales team who will be able to confirm if this is possible.

Do you deliver on Weekends?

Not as standard, our deliveries are made Monday to Friday. If you do need an urgent Saturday delivery please contact out sales team on 01858 455055 during office hours who will be able to confirm. This will incur a premium charge if possible.

Do you deliver to Northern Ireland/Guernsey/The Scottish Highlands/Isle of Wight?

Yes, we do but our transport charges incorporated in the site do not cover these areas, please contact our sales team on 01858 455055 during office hours for costs; or we will contact you to make the additional payment once you have completed your online purchase.

What if my delivery doesn't turn up on time?

REFUND POLICY

Returns

Important Note: Please do not send goods back to Roof Giant before speaking to the Roof Giant sales office. 

Roof Giant strongly recommend you take photographs of goods before returning. Occasionally goods are damaged during transit, therefore you may need to confirm the packaging/goods were intact (prior to collection) to the courier as part of the refund process.

As a consumer you have the right to change your mind (Consumer Regulations 2013). This right stipulates that for most products purchased online you have a legal right to change your mind within 14 days and receive a refund under the consumer contracts regulations 2013.

This right starts from the point you or someone you nominate receives the goods. If your goods are being delivered in multiple deliveries your right starts from the point the last delivery is received.

If you wish to exercise this right you must in the first instance contact us via phone 01858 455055 or email sales@roofgiant.com advising us of your wish to change your mind, its then your responsibility to arrange for the goods to be returned to us within 14 days of ending the contract.
