The Tapco Roof Abutment Ventilator Strip is a discreet, smart, weatherproof and insect-proof roof vent that provides high-level ventilation in conjunction with lead roll details on slate and shake roofs. Once installed, this vent is nicely hidden within the roof flashings and delivers a guaranteed 5000mm²/m ventilation along with protection against driving rain and large insect ingress.

Quick and easy to install, this abutment vent is particularly useful in top edge abutment details where there is limited vertical clearance. Suitable for roofs with a minimum pitch of 15° degrees and won't affect the normal laying of the roof covering. A lead or AluFlash cover flashing (not included) must be installed with the Abutment Ventilator as shown in our Downloads section. 

The ventilator is fully compliant with BS 5250 Control of Condensation in Buildings, the primary means to comply with Building Regulations in the UK.

Delivery charges

  • The delivery charge will be shown in the checkout.
  • If the delivery is missed for any reason, you will be billed again for the re-delivery. See below: failed deliveries.

Delivery access

  • Tapco Abutment Ventilators/ Tapco Cowl Vents/Tapco Dry Verge Jointing Clips/Tapco Inline Vent Adapters/TapcoSlate Classic Ridge to Hip Junctions/ Tapco Eaves Ventilation Kits/Tapco Classic Slate Inline Vents/Tapco Cowl Vent Adaptors/Tapco HipMaster/Tapco RidgeMaster Plus/TapcoSlate Classic Ridge End Caps are usually delivered poly-wrapped or boxed on a pallet (with or without other ordered products) via an 18-tonne vehicle. They are offloaded by the driver with a pump truck, so we cannot deliver on gravel or mud. If you have a gravel drive the driver will only be able to leave goods at the closest hard surfaced area. If you have a grass or gravel drive it will not be possible to leave palleted goods without someone being in attendance. Smaller quantities will be boxed and delivered via a courier service.
  • DaVinci Select Shake Starter Tiles/ TapcoSlate Classic roofing tiles/ TapcoSlate Classic Ridge & Hip Caps/DaVinci Select Shake roofing tiles/ DaVinci Select Shake Ridge & Hip Caps/TapcoSlate Dry Verge lengths are usually delivered stacked on a pallet (either with other ordered products or on their own if a large quantity ordered) via an 18-tonne vehicle. They are offloaded by the driver with a pump truck, so we cannot deliver on gravel or mud. If you have a gravel drive the driver will only be able to leave goods at the closest hard surfaced area. If you have a grass or gravel drive it will not be possible to leave palleted goods without someone being in attendance. Smaller quantities may be boxed and delivered via a courier service.
  • Our sales office will need to be made aware of any delivery restrictions, such as narrow lanes, overhanging trees, restricted access, etc., that may cause problems.

Date and time of delivery

  • We will advise a delivery date to you by email and your order will be delivered directly to you from Tapco Roofing Products.
  • Delivery will arrive between 8.30am–8pm if you cannot be there to accept the delivery, it is important to leave a note for the driver with instructions where to leave the pallet or the delivery will fail and be returned to the regional hub. Note that unattended deliveries are at the discretion of the driver and if thought to be unsafe will be allocated for re-delivery.

Failed deliveries are chargeable

  • You must be present to accept the deliver to avoid delivery failure.  
  • Failed pallet deliveries will be chargeable and will usually be re-delivered the next working day (this may be longer and cannot be guaranteed).Please contact Roof Giant for confirmation of additional charges. Failed courier deliveries will be re-delivered free of charge within 2-3 working days.
  • If you cannot be present for the delivery, it is important to leave a note for the driver with instructions on where to leave the pallet or box or the delivery will fail. Note that unattended deliveries are at the discretion of the driver and if thought to be unsafe will be allocated for re-delivery.

Damages & missing items

  • All damaged or missing items should be reported to the driver and signed for as damaged or missing, wherever possible.
  • Contact Roof Giant within 24 hours with all details so we can help you. If you wait too long, we may be unable to help.
  • Any damages must be photographed as delivered and submitted along with your claim by email to sales@roofgiant.com.

Do not install purchased items if you have a query with the product (e.g. if you need to query damage that occurred during transit).

  • If an item is installed it will not be refunded or replaced.

Delivery

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery charges will vary and will depend on the manufacturer, weight, size and delivery location. The cost is automatically calculated when you add items to the shopping basket.

How long will I wait for my delivery?

The estimated delivery times are shown on each product page, we will email you each step of the way to keep you informed. The majority of products can be delivered within 3-5 working days.We will advise you if the delivery period is different from than stated on our website.

Do you offer NEXT DAY delivery?

We currently do not offer next day delivery but hope to offer this soon. If you have a particular item that you require quicker than the guide on our website, please contact our sales team on 01858 455055 during office hours, they will be able to confirm whether a quicker delivery if possible.

What if my delivery doesn't turn up on time?

Do you offer FREE Delivery if I spend a substantial amount?

Not as standard, we show the delivery charges separate once you go to the checkout so it is clear what you are paying for the products and delivery costs. If you are ordering larger quantities please contact out sales team who will be able to confirm if this is possible.

Do you deliver on Weekends?

Not as standard, our deliveries are made Monday to Friday. If you do need an urgent Saturday delivery please contact out sales team on 01858 455055 during office hours who will be able to confirm. This will incur a premium charge if possible.

Do you deliver to Northern Ireland/Guernsey/The Scottish Highlands/Isle of Wight?

Yes, we do but our transport charges incorporated in the site do not cover these areas, please contact our sales team on 01858 455055 during office hours for costs; or we will contact you to make the additional payment once you have completed your online purchase.

REFUND POLICY

Returns

Important Note: Please do not send goods back to Roof Giant before speaking to the Roof Giant sales office. 

Roof Giant strongly recommend you take photographs of goods before returning. Occasionally goods are damaged during transit, therefore you may need to confirm the packaging/goods were intact (prior to collection) to the courier as part of the refund process.

As a consumer you have the right to change your mind (Consumer Regulations 2013). This right stipulates that for most products purchased online you have a legal right to change your mind within 14 days and receive a refund under the consumer contracts regulations 2013.

This right starts from the point you or someone you nominate receives the goods. If your goods are being delivered in multiple deliveries your right starts from the point the last delivery is received.

If you wish to exercise this right you must in the first instance contact us via phone 01858 455055 or email sales@roofgiant.com advising us of your wish to change your mind, its then your responsibility to arrange for the goods to be returned to us within 14 days of ending the contract.
